A Little Background...

Halloween night. A simple bowl of chili. A 16 year old girl should be out having fun, right? Not in my case. I got so sick that my parents took me the Emergency Room. Several tests and hours later the Dr. diagnosed me the "flu".  This is the night all my problems began. Little did I know that 10 years later I would only begin to start fixing my health problems.

My name is Noel and I am currently 26 years old. I wanted to write this blog for all the people out there who have been diagnosed with my condition and were never able to find information or hope.

In February of 2013, I was diagnosed with a stomach condition known as bile reflux gastropathy/gastritis. My stomach was very inflamed, had stomach polyps, and bile was pooled in the lower region of the stomach. My symptoms for over 10 years included the following;

• Severe abdominal/stomach pain
• Stomach cramps
• Nausea/vomiting
• Severe diarrhea
• Immediate use of bathroom after eating
• Burping/belching after eating
• Heartburn
• Chills 
• Fevers
• Increased heart rate

I am going to go through and talk about all the testing that I had done over the past 10 years that finally led to my diagnosis and as of June 2013 a surgical procedure that has completely altered my life. I want to offer anyone out there information and hope that with the right combination of Doctors and determination there is the hope that one day you could feel better too!
